Ah, 11 years then.It started in 2007.
So in theory could this company revoke the contract after 35 years (so in 2042) and alton have to restore the land to the way it was before?
Edit - Just thought, if it runs out in 2042, what if project 42 was a nod to the future year 2042, where after 35 years a post- merlin landscape has led to the Alton Towers magic mutating and becoming twisted, infecting employees with the virus B10 NST.

Can merlin be forced to remove all changes, technically the contract may say they do but practically no.

I don't miss Sub Terra at all but if people want to queue up for it then it means less queues elsewhere.

Neither Merlin nor Alton Towers are that cleverEdit - Just thought, if it runs out in 2042, what if project 42 was a nod to the future year 2042, where after 35 years a post- merlin landscape has led to the Alton Towers magic mutating and becoming twisted, infecting employees with the virus B10 NST.![]()

So, the 2018 season at Alton Towers is now officially over! And what a season it's been! I've loved this season, and I personally think it's been the best season Alton Towers have had in quite a few years (certainly post-Smiler, anyway.)! Out of interest, what have been everyone's highlights of the 2018 season?
Mine have been getting on Wicker Man for the first time; what a stunning addition to Alton! Also, going to the Wicker Man opening weekend was a personal highlight of mine; the atmosphere was electric, even if it did take us nearly 4 hours to get onto Wicker Man for a variety of reasons!

I suspect it has been left switched on for the last 3 years.
I would quite like to see the ride re-opened, but I don't think this is any kind of indication that it will.
They’ve left a queue sign light switched on for the last 3 years? And the lightbulbs haven’t died? And nobodies thought to switch it off?
The ??? Is a teaser campaign, they could easily have left it one more day to do that small bit of work on it.

Well there LEDs so it's possible, Waterloo station left the international terminal gate lines turned on when they closed until they were doing the refurb. They’ve left a queue sign light switched on for the last 3 years? And the lightbulbs haven’t died? And nobodies thought to switch it off?

Actually I'll agree with that. So, the 2018 season at Alton Towers is now officially over! And what a season it's been! It's been one of the best seasons in recent times. Wicker Man is excellent and that's my personal highlight for this season, especially my last ride on the back in the rain. It's a great ride and I hope it can turn around the fortunes of the park. Merlin just need to invest in Alton Towers and give it the budget it deserves next year so it can thrive properly.
Or somebody just accidentally pulled the network cable out the back...The ??? Is a teaser campaign, they could easily have left it one more day to do that small bit of work on it.

Plus it's pretty hard to accidently pull out a network cable when it's an IP rated one.Actually I'll agree with that.

Fair enough! But even then it's not that easy assuming it's ethernet. Was thinking more at the network switch in some plant room somewhere rather than on the display.

As someone who spends way too much time in network cabinets, you'd be surprised how often a broken clip will ruin your day.
It might not even be anything physically unplugged but assuming its coded to match a certain API call and that name no longer exists, it could be a null result. That being said, as you pointed out ??? Isn't one that usually springs to mind. It could be testing gone awry or could it actually mean something.

Welcome to silly season![]()
There's three initials in SW9... Obviously it must be hinting towards that!
So there’s been an error somewhere that causes the NST, redundant queue line display, out of all the displays in the park, to randomly display three ?’s. And it just happens to be on display on the last day of the season, the day they’ve just finished running a scaremaze on that side. Come on.

Out of all the silly season conspiracies, my favourite was the galactica trademark. I forgot when it came out, but I remember claiming it was something to do with Air and was completely ridiculed for it. It was purely speculation from me and a lot of people got overly annoyed for some reason. I've got to say when the posters came out in forbidden Valley I did start getting a little big for my boots
