2014: Arthur in the Minimoys kingdom

Mul-Mul
This will be a Zamperla 'Jump Around' model. It's a small, kid-friendly carousel, with cars that rotate and bounce. Product on Zamperla's home page.

That looks really cheap in my opinion. Every if (and I'd imagine they will) go for custom chassis then I still think the central tower bit looks sub-par.

It'll look nothing like that! All Zamperla off the shelf varieties look rubbish (compare Heave Ho to standard rocking tug).

It's got a huge cage around it for one, as part of the theming, and the vehicles will look like the Mul Mul from the film.

Check the plans.

Official Vlog - Part 4

Europa-Park today released the 4th official Vlog following the construction of the new area for 2014.

The video released today shows a LOT of as yet unseen concept art, especially for the main atrium area, carousel and family free fall ride!

It's in French, as that is the nationality of the guy designing the attraction :)

I can't believe how big the building for this is at the end of the video! If it turns out anything like the concept art it will be a very good looking ride and area.

Bring on April!

It appears that some work is taking place on the Tyrol Log Flume for 2014:

It seems as though all of the rock work around the trough / drop has been removed, presumably to be replaced or altered. As for what else they might be doing, who knows?

:)

Maybe it's getting some good old Dragon Falls theming removal treatment for 2014! ;) You get the impression that EP may well be improving it though, unlike Chessington!

:)

This photo, taken from Bellevue (the wheel which operates in winter season) show the dimensions of the Arthur complex quite well:

It really is actually quite compact isn't it?

It's a pretty large building! However, inside - it's very higgledy-piggledy, on many different floors.

Yeah, that's what I meant, it's quite the task to fit so much in over so little space, and still have it so well blended against the park and Rust itself. It's hardly recognisable within that part of the park.

Another update on the Tyrol Log Flume:

New rock work on the way for 2014!

Are those vertical steel girders a permanent thing?

If so, they imply that a 'canyon' of rockwork will be built around the trough, which will look great!

The inside of the ride never really looked that big, but that video makes it look massive. This will be a great ride and I cannot wait to see it.

Some lovely new images from eprust.fr during the press event held yesterday, as well as some new facts about the ride:

  • On-board audio confirmed
  • On-board lighting
  • Trains will be constantly moving through the station Omnimover-style, with a conveyer belt system underneath to help guests board
  • While most of it will be controlled spinning, guests will be able to spin their own cars during the final scene using an on-board control panel
  • Theoretical throughput of 1500pph
  • Seven trains

Lovely pictures and considering it's still got a few months construction it's well on its way. A theoretical 1,500pph throughput probably means a 1300pph practical throughput, this is at the mid range of EP's throughputs for coasters (though that says more about the high through puts of EP than anything else), but I still reckon queues will be fast moving and interesting to boot.

Despite being my favourite park I like to be fairly objective but there is no reason this won't be in the premier league of family coasters.

I do hope the outside gets clad (but it will I know)
