PortAventura World: Ferrari Land

I can imagine this closing in ten years after failing to make any return on investment, if I'm honest.

I can't see it losing money in one of Europe's largest Theme Park Resorts, if it did take a turn for the worst they'd just join it on to PortAventura Park and call it Italy or something, it's joined onto the Park like the Waterpark anyway, you just need a separate ticket to go through the turnstiles.

I have no problem with a Ferrari coaster having a Ferrari logo on it, but this is just tacky and looks pants. It doesn't fit in with the surroundings, or the rest of the resort. It's just there to look obnoxious, loud, and Italian.

It's got to be one of the most visibly available advert ever. If they have logos on each side of the tower ( although they look very flat), it will be seen over the whole entire valley. It's not pretty but it's sure effective. Fair play to Ferrari/Port Aventura.

@siralgenon do you know how much the park will expand for phase two? I still feel that they need enough room to enable some more significant attractions to make this worth being lab led as a third gate.

I haven't got a clue, I only found out the above from translating a few articles. There isnt a huge amount of space to expand, but there is the rest of the land adjacent to the Park which is currently a car park (there is plenty more land for Parking elsewhere in the Resort), or across the road, but I think more hotels and / or an entertainment district is pencilled for that area (In between Hotel Caribe and Hotel El Paso).

I just feel that Europe are getting the lesser deal with this compared to the rest of the projected projects around the world.

Wow, thats one noticeable logo. At least they have not had to paint the track a different colour above a certain height like AT have to

I know you've all forgotten that this is happening (and I don't blame you), however it has been confirmed that Ferarri Land will open on 7th April 2017.

It seems a massive wait for 1 coaster, two drop/shot towers and go cart track. ;)
Have they announced how this is going to be priced/ticketed? It feels like a new area in the main park, rather than a standalone park. With the addition of Flying Aces and the other new rides, the UAE park is veering towards being a full day attraction, but this isn't anywhere close, from what I have seen so far.

There was a survey a while ago that had been sent out asking people how they felt about a day ticket costing €35-40 just for Ferrari Land and €60 for a 1-day hopper between PA and Ferrari Land.

... one huge hotel, landscaping, infrastructure and other buildings.

Mandy Land & Alton are taking 2 years to build 1 coaster. :p

There is no hotel, they announced they had pushed the hotel back to phase two a while ago.

I can't see many people buying a ticket just for Ferrari. I assume the park are banking on most day visitors paying that bit extra to upgrade a port aventura ticket into a park hopping ticket, given the amount of guests that seem to be willing to buy express passes it shouldn't be to difficult for the park to upgrade people to parking hopping tickets!

Phase 1 includes 'Italy', the vertical accelerator, bounce back towers, simulators, race circuit, shopping and dining street and the mystery attraction in the central building.

Phase 2 was meant to be the 5* Ferrari Hotel and additional attractions. However it has been rumoured that PortAventura were looking to build a Polynesian themed hotel adjacent to PortAventura Park so I have a feeling they may scrap the Ferrari Hotel and build the Polynesian Resort and use the Ferrari space to expand the Park and add additional attractions to the initially small line up.

Surley Ferrari must of signed off the hotel as part of this development?

I'm not sure if port Aventura wants to build a new hotel (why?) that the frerrai hotel would be part of the PA resort. The whole sports car related attraction (did not to say the F word again) surely must be part of the Barcelona resort project????

More hotels:eek:

Although all the Hotels aren't used over winter they do all get booked up over summer, so they will need to continue expansion naturally, although I dont think they would be as big as the original ones.

BCN World (or whatever its called) is nothing to do with PA. It was just going to be built near it from what I can gather, I could be wrong though. The project has been cut whatever it is. As for Ferrari Land, that's in partnership with PA.

Ferrari Land will be expensive, but it will sell upgrades/stand alone tickets no problem. As I mentioned earlier in the topic, Spanish people can normally be spotted walking around wearing Ferrari merchandise despite not owning a Ferrari, and will jump at the chance to take selfies in-front of large Ferrari logos.

This park is all about the brand, and part of the brand image is that it's expensive, and that will cascade to the park ticket price. If you want this to be good and you don't like Ferrari you are going to be disappointed.
