Re: [The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation Part 2
WARNING, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY PICTURE HEAVY POST!!
I may have gone a bit photo crazy today, and this isn't even them all! Quite a lot of changes since my last update though. Enjoy!
Starting in the car parks, as of the middle of the day this was the only meaningful stuff remaining:
Looking empty:
Now on park. Looking across from Mutiny Bay, shows how tall the vertical lift is compared to the track that was already above the toilets:
Closer:
I think these little pre-drops are going to be really good:
The second inverted drop is almost done, I reckon it only needs two more pieces of track to be complete:
A look at the base of the vertical lift:
And the final turnaround:
Base of the first lift waiting to be moved into position:
The first inverted drop has less track up, but it looks like all the supports for it are now up. The inverted drops are relatively lightly supported if that's the best way of putting it:
Another look at the second inverted drop. Notice the big support which is for the first lift:
Another mysterious footer. The other one that looked liked this has now vanished/been covered over:
It's now clear to see that this will be a games unit:
Hopefully the building will have more details/theming on it upon completion as it looks awful at the moment:
A look from the bottom of X-Sector:
The top of the vertical lift:
And now looking from the merge point on Blivvy:
Lights on The Flasher have been installed:
The back of The Flasher's lights:
This white 'lines' have appeared on the wall of the maintenance shed. I assume they are related to painting a pattern onto the wall:
More of these can be found of the station building:
The station, lots of yellow pipes now:
There are also dark grey corner strips on the corners around the building:
A look at the supports for the top of the first lift:
Here you can see how steep the inverted drop is going to be:
A clear view of the vertical lift:
The first lift poking out of the ground:
A better look at the queue line shop:
More lift track being delivered directly to the site:
You can see how bulky the track is. It also appears to have magnetic fins on it:
This photo gives you a really good idea of how the inverted drop will look:
A look at The Inoculator, the syringes are definitely going to do something I reckon:
The protective films have also been peeled off the syringes:
Here you can see work on constructing the queue has begun, you can see how it leads into the building:
More fencing and possible queue:
An overview of the Marmaliser:
Not sure if this has been noticed before or not, but there is indeed drainage in place all over the concrete floor:
This is what I like to see, cleaning of the track:
Here you can see the 3D textured nature of the lettering at the base of the Marmaliser legs:
And again:
More piping, not sure if this is in place or not:
Lifting some chain return feeder components:
Here you can see that the pre-drop after the vertical lift is actually quite big:
This is the back of the vertical lift, it does look like the fins do retract:
The indoor section is now being sealed in:
Another look from the bottom of the site:
A close up of the station:
A couple of slightly different angles viewing the site:
Lots of cable work was taking place:
All very impressive:
This box was being filled up with concrete. I think it may prove to be the base/footer of the final leg of the Marmaliser and it may also be where the Marmaliser gets some of it's effects/power from:
Lots more wires on the Marmaliser:
Another look at some first lift track, definitely looks like it has fins:
The cage that goes up the vertical lift:
Finally an overview from the top of the site:
Phew! I hope you liked all of them! Although nothing massively visible was taking place today there was still a lot to see. Things do seem to be progressing really nicely.
As usual, all photos taken from areas of the park fully accessible to the public. Please do not replicate my photos without permission. TowersStreet may use them if they wish.
