[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*

Well having been today I have to say that the ride is more or less faultless. To clear up any concerns about it not being finished and complete, rest assured. This certainly isn't another Sub-Terra! There are one or two little touches they could perhaps add here or there, but it's certainly nothing major. For the first time since 1998 the park have opened a ride which in my eyes is near perfect and the complete package from day 1
Merlin have proved in recent years that they will go back and add bits to rides here and there. It would be nice if they were to do this to The Smiler, but as I say, as a package it really does feel very much complete as it is, so it'll be no great loss if they don't (That doesn't mean don't bother!
).
Praise given where praise is due. It's been a long slog to get to this point, and it's certainly been one of the most interesting (If for the wrong reasons
) Secret Weapon project to follow, but it's all come together in the end, and it's certainly been worth it. A massive well done to Candy and the team at Studio/Magic Making/Whatever They're Called This Week, and to Gerst too. They've all delivered an excellent product, which does exactly what it says on the tin

To those that have been on it, is there a front row queue and if not, is it easy to ask a ride host to wait for the front? Glad to hear that it's not too rough and has such an amazing atmosphere.

No front row queue, just get put into rows 1, 2, 3 or 4.
But didn't ask for the front so couldn't tell you

Why do people love the front row so much? It's so boring. You just constantly feel the weight of the rest of the train being pulled around.

Scared Spin_doctor ran away.
Scarcely ran away, away!
When Towersstreet reared its puzzled head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, scared Spin_doctor turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Worryingly taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Scariest of the scared, Spin_Doctor!

Firstly, WOW the ride is amazing! I really love it, and I have to say the front row was 10 times better than my first ride on the 3rd row. It's a ride that seems to have been well and truely thought about, from the moment you enter the queue line to the moment you leave the shop, its all great and really does marmalise you! I just cant wait to go back and ride it again!
Secondly, I have just added loadsssss of photos from the opening day to a new album on the TowersStreet Facebook page, here are a few of them (dont worry they dont spoil the inside of the queue line or anything in particular!):
And here are the scanable images (Think this is most of them, but I think there are some in single/fastrack queue line.)

If anything I think the opposite about a lot of Merlin themes. Generally, their rides have been built to look old or dilapidated or half-finished or half-constructed so that in the future you hopefully won't notice any neglect to theme. I think this is the total opposite!AirFAN said:One thing that's good about a lot of the themes Merlin choose is they look better over time.
What's this ride going to look like in 5 years time? I have a feeling it's going to look rather dilapidated. It looks so polished and pristine at the moment.

I am not sure where to put this so if incorrect would a Mod please move it to wherever.
OK guys. During the opening day I took 777 Photos. I have uploaded ALL of them. Some are blurred. Some were used on the TN live, others weren't (Not necessarily due to them being better or worse, when we were doing the live we could only look on the small screen of the iPhone to decide which to post). Also a lot of them are shot in burst mode, so it may look like there are multiples of the same photo. They are actually 0.2 of a second later. You will see quite a few of the backs of the TS guys who were ahead of the Nerds and who extremely kindly let us fill the preceding car in the station. Enjoy.
